What new themes do you plan to explore in your work in 2025?

I lived in New York for the last few years of my life, and it’s probably the most vibrant city I’ve ever been to. There’s a real mix of people from all over the world living here, and it’s amazing how they all get along. I absolutely love New York – to me, it’s a place of power and inspiration. I’m obsessed with the texture of the city. It’s got all kinds of people, food from every continent, museums covering all kinds of topics, and buildings that mix old with new. I’m planning to create a series of works dedicated to The Big Apple (New York), where the images, expressed in more formal or abstract forms, will rely more on feelings and emotions. I love the look of concrete, wood and metal, and I would like to bring all these textures to my future canvases.

“A PAIR OF HARLEQUINS”
Mixed media, canvas 40×30 inches

Tell us more about your Arlequin direction and what makes your work so dynamic.

To me, Arlequin is linked to theatre, like the costumes, drapes and architecture from the 17th century. It’s a symbol of fun and humor, but also of the hidden pain behind the mask. This character in the painting is more than just a simple image from commedia dell’arte – it’s a complex symbol that makes us think about the theme. We all have our own mask behind the scenes, and we change one for another based on our inner state.

Name the top three art hotels that inspire you?

For myself, I have chosen three cities that I have visited: London, New York, Istanbul. In New York, of course, the Langham Place Hotel at that time, in the lobby were presented the original works of the American artist Alex Katz. London – the art hotel Battersea Power Station, designer Jaime Hayon, the project erases the boundaries between art and design. Istanbul – The Sofa Hotel. The owner of the hotel is also the founder of the Istanbul Contemporary Art Fair, so there is definitely something to see there.
