The annual Travel to Art Award takes place in Miami Beach, USA, in December as part of Art Basel Miami. This project recognizes leaders of the creative industries worldwide, as selected by the international publication Travel to Art.
Main Criteria for Evaluating Nominees.
Innovative and experimental approaches to creativity are expected.
Entries should be in line with competitions.
The jurors will consider the quality of presentation materials and the legend of each entry.
Each year, the editorial team of the American luxury magazine Travel to Art assembles a panel of esteemed judges who select winners in the main categories. Additionally, there are two special award categories : The Audience Choice Award , The Editors Choice Award
This article features all participants from the 2023 and 2024 projects. This spring, the theme for Travel to Art Award 2025 and the new jury panel will be officially announced.
About the Award
The award was created by Astian Rey, a Ukrainian sculptor whose works are already widely known in Ukraine and abroad. Astian prefers a rough approach to the creative process, working with electric welding and combining metal and concrete in his exclusive technique.
His inspiration for this piece comes from the Winged Victory of Samothrace, an ancient art heritage. The sculpture, carved out of stone, was created in honor of the goddess of Victory (Niké) and symbolizes unstoppable movement forward. Astian was attracted to the combination of femininity, lightness, and a sense of confidence and monumentality in her figure.
Creating his Niké, Astian Rey aims to depict the eternal image of a woman who inspires the world to achieve and win. He has given the figure dynamics reminiscent of the marine element and sought to recreate the colors found in ancient mythology
