Dallas Fashion Week: Trend Boss and the Culture of Intentional Style

Dallas Fashion Week has transcended the boundaries of a traditional runway showcase, establishing itself as a cultural platform where fashion, design, lifestyle, and creative discourse converge. On January 22, DFW hosted the Trend Boss Speakers Panel and cocktail reception at Blu Dot Dallas, bringing together leading voices in fashion and interior design for an evening defined by insight, elegance, and meaningful exchange.

Blu Dot Dallas provided an effortlessly refined setting for the experience. Defined by clean architectural lines, modern furnishings, and impeccably curated interiors, the space echoed the evening’s central philosophy: that true style extends beyond what we wear, influencing the environments we shape and the way we choose to live.

DFW VIP ticket holders, designers, creatives, media representatives, and industry leaders gathered not for a routine social affair, but for substance—coming together to exchange ideas and examine how trends evolve across disciplines.

Trend Boss centered on dialogue and perspective, creating space for insight, reflection, and meaningful exchange. The program spotlighted voices whose careers are defined by intentional design and narrative depth, positioning fashion and interiors as deeply personal expressions rather than seasonal statements.

The evening was opened by Dallas Fashion Week CEO, Ms. Nataliya Nova (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nataliyaivantsova/) , who introduced speakers representing the true voice of the industry. Among them was Mrs. Sage McEuin, an award-winning wardrobe stylist and creative director based in Frisco, Texas. With more than 25 years of experience across editorial, commercial, and personal styling, McEuin brought a grounded authority to the conversation. In her role as Senior Manager of Styling and Casting at Haggar, she has been instrumental in shaping brand identity through wardrobe and talent, translating modern heritage into visual narratives that resonate with real people.

Drawing on her authority as a key decision-maker behind national and global campaigns, Mrs. McEuin offered rare insight into how brands select the faces that represent them. She thoughtfully unpacked the criteria guiding model selection, underscoring that the process extends well beyond conventional notions of beauty to prioritize authenticity, presence, and alignment with a brand’s identity.

In her discussion, Mrs. McEuin also examined the industry’s evolution from trend-driven cycles toward purpose-led choices. She observed that today’s consumers are increasingly drawn to authenticity—seeking clothing that reflects lifestyle, confidence, and individuality rather than fleeting aesthetics. Drawing from her experience styling A-list celebrities, professional athletes, influencers, and everyday women, she positioned styling as a powerful medium for self-expression and storytelling.

Equally central to her practice is education. As an Adjunct Professor at Dallas College, McEuin mentors the next generation of fashion and creative professionals, preparing them for the realities of an evolving industry. She spoke passionately about the balance between creativity and professionalism, emphasizing that longevity in fashion depends on discipline, collaboration, and a deep understanding of how brands connect with people. Her perspective resonated strongly with attendees navigating the changing landscape of fashion.

Complementing the fashion dialogue was Mr. David Call, founder of David Call Designs, who expanded the conversation to interiors as an extension of personal style. A Dallas-based interior designer since 1995, David is known for his distinctive blend of effortless luxury and vivid sophistication. His portfolio spans intimate room transformations to full-scale renovations and new builds, each shaped by a commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling, and close collaboration with clients.

Mr. Call shared how interiors, much like fashion, are influenced by personal history, travel, and cultural references. He spoke of creating spaces that feel collected rather than decorated environments that reflect lived experience, taste, and lifestyle. His design language often incorporates bold wallpapers, layered textures, custom upholstery, and performance fabrics that marry beauty with durability.

Beyond aesthetics, David emphasized the importance of communication and trust throughout the design process. His work, recognized with numerous accolades including Modern Luxury’s Power Player of the Year and multiple Designer of the Year honors, reflects a philosophy in which luxury is defined not by excess, but by intention, quality, and meaning.

The exchange between Sage McEuin’s fashion insights and David Call’s design philosophy reinforced the evening’s central theme: style is holistic. What we wear and how we live are interconnected expressions of identity.

Following the speaker sessions, the evening transitioned into a cocktail reception, allowing conversations to continue in a relaxed yet refined setting. Designers connected with media, creatives exchanged ideas, and new collaborations emerged organically. The atmosphere reflected Trend Boss’s ethos of community over competition.

With media support from Travel to Art Magazine, the event aligned seamlessly with the publication’s mission to spotlight cultural experiences where art, design, and lifestyle intersect. Trend Boss was not merely an exploration of what is trending, but a thoughtful reflection on how fashion and interiors shape the way we move through the world.

Once again, Dallas Fashion Week demonstrated that its strength lies in curation with purpose and dialogue with depth. Trend Boss served as a reminder that true trends are never fleeting—they are rooted in authenticity, creativity, and the art of living well.

During the cocktail reception, Dallas Fashion Week also unveiled its upcoming membership program, designed to extend opportunities for local businesses and the creative community beyond the organization’s biannual events. Members will have the ability to showcase their collections, expand their clientele, and gain greater visibility within the creative community. In addition to in-person events, the program will offer online profiles, providing a digital platform for designers to connect, engage, and be discovered by industry professionals and fashion enthusiasts alike.

Further supporting its creative community, DFW will provide global PR services and personal branding guidance, helping members establish their name, build a professional presence, and position their brands on both national and international stages. This initiative reinforces DFW’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering meaningful connections between designers, media, and clients.

The evening was made all the more memorable thanks to Bev Wines, who sponsored the reception and provided signature beverages for guests to enjoy throughout the event.
