An exclusive award from the Ukrainian sculptor, Astian Rey.
Participation in Art Week Miami 2025.
Exclusive interview in the print edition of the art glossy magazine “Travel to Art”
by Astian Rey
The award was created by Astian Rey, a Ukrainian sculptor whose works are already widely known in Ukraine and abroad. Astian prefers a rough approach to the creative process, working with electric welding and combining metal and concrete in his exclusive technique.
His inspiration for this piece comes from the Winged Victory of Samothrace, an ancient art heritage. The sculpture, carved out of stone, was created in honor of the goddess of Victory (Niké) and symbolizes unstoppable movement forward. Astian was attracted to the combination of femininity, lightness, and a sense of confidence and monumentality in her figure.
Creating his Niké, Astian Rey aims to depict the eternal image of a woman who inspires the world to achieve and win. He has given the figure dynamics reminiscent of the marine element and sought to recreate the colors found in ancient mythology.
